How to Replace a Nivito Kitchen Faucet Cartridge

A leaking Nivito brushed brass kitchen mixer can be a common problem, but thankfully, it's a relatively easy task. You can begin by unscrewing the handle cover, revealing the stem screw. Remove the spring, which is located inside the stem, and then pry the seat from the stem. Next, you'll need to unscrew the cap and set screw. Finally, remove the spring, and you're ready to replace the cartridge. If you're a novice, you'll want to get a day off from work to do this.

Install the cartridge

Once you've unbolted the handles, you're ready to install the cartridge. To do this, simply turn the faucet off and unscrew the retaining ring, which can be a tough nut to remove. In some cases, you may need an Allen wrench to loosen the screws holding the retaining ring in place. To remove the cartridge, place a rag over the drain and turn the water on and off one at a time.

Need a pair of pliers

To remove the cartridge from your Nivito kitchen faucet, you need to reverse the stem attachment. You may also need a pair of pliers or a utility knife to pry the retaining clip out of the stem. Use a rag to soak up any water in the handle before replacing the cartridge. This will prevent any accidental spills from dripping water on the handles and faucet. It may be necessary to replace the faucet handle if the new cartridge does not fit correctly. To replace the cartridge on your Nivito kitchen faucet, you need to unbolt the retaining nut from the handle. To do this, you need to use a pair of tongue pliers and remove the retaining nut. Then, using a rag, remove the cartridge from the faucet. The retaining ring will have several screws that must be unscrewed to get the cartridge out.

Remove the retaining nut

To remove the cartridge, remove the retaining nut from the handle. It may be a plastic retaining clip on the handle. To release the spring, use a pipe wrench to loosen it. A retaining nut is used to secure the cartridge in the handle. It is not necessary to remove the retaining nut if the retaining ring is attached to the faucet. After you've removed the restraining nut, lift the cartridge from the faucet.

Remove this clip

The faucet cartridge may be stuck because of a retaining clip. To remove this clip, you need to use a pair of adjustable pliers or needle nose pliers to remove it. If the retaining clip is not removable, use a pipe wrench to remove it. If it won't move, you'll need to remove the handle. To remove the handle, you can then use the spring to lift the cartridge.
